Roundtable was conceived by winemaker Nick Bickford as a toast to the kitchen table. The kitchen table filled with friends and good food is where we really sort things out. Nowdays it can be luxury enough to make space for these times, so we think a damn good tablewine is a necessity. Roundtable is about pure and natural flavours that will work in hand with the incredible diversity of dishes and ingredients we can now place on our tables. As our label declares, we proudly wear our influences on our sleeves. In line with the multiculturalism of Australia and the diverse roots of our early grapegrowers, Roundtable has drawn influences from the contemporary and traditional wines of Europe in hand with the unique winestyles that have evolved in Australia. Although Batch 1 is Shiraz and an unoaked chardonnay, the wines will come to contain varying blends of compatible varieties , sourced from a range of regions around Australia. We intend to devolop a house style from vintage to vintage so though there will be consistent structural and stylistic elements, flavour profiles will continually evolve. Rosso Verde could possibly contain in addition to shiraz ; mataro, grenache and tempranillo. We intend to try and source viognier and roussanne for Bianco.
